DIY | Wall Clock turned Decor

Tips and Tutorials 42 Comments

How are you guys?!  Finally I cut my ties with my former internet provider and hopefully, my new ISP is better so I’ll have my internet connection back in our house.  It’s one of the reasons why I was absent here in my blog for a couple of days.  So today, I’m feeling crafty and wanted to share a simple DIY I made.

I have this wall clock that I bought from Landmark that I’m loving so much but, it always hangs no matter what brand of battery I put in it.  I asked how much is it for repair and it’s whooping P350.00!  My wall clock just costs a hundred.  Oh I wanna cry and laugh at the same time!  I don’t want to let go of it yet so I just recycled. 😀  You can do this to your wall clocks as well.

All you need are the following:

Broken Wall Clock

Cutter / Pair of Scissors

Screw drivers

Old Magazines or Notebooks

First, disassemble your wall clock.  I used philips screw driver, medium size fits the little screws.

Look for a nice photo in an old magazine or notebooks.  I used a photo from an old Belle de Jour Planner.  They have the prettiest monthly dividers.  I honestly had a hard time choosing what to use, but since I’m currently getting addicted to Eiffel tower designs, I chose this one above.

Trace the glass cover of your wall clock on top of the photo so you can see how it will look like in a frame then cut it using your scissors or cutter.  Careful, we don’t want a bloody red frame here! 😀  Jokes, just be careful okay?

Put the photo in front and assemble your clock.  I already removed the machine here.

TADA!  This clock is designed so you can both hang or just put it on a table.  I have a new decor!  It’s also a perfect props for your blog photos. 🙂  If you have an old clock with a nice frame that’s just rotting in your storage room, try this!  It’s so easy to do!  Let me know if you’re planning to do this too or have done something similar to this before.  I would love to see your work as well! <3

  1. So crafty! That reminds me i have a ton of old clocks that are probably collecting dust in the other room, oh and that old BDJ planner can be useful too 🙂

    1. Ohhh use it na sis most especially if they have nice frames! Perfect for decor sa room or props for product shoots 🙂

  2. An alternative to a picture frame. 🙂 We shouldn’t easily throw things away if we think it’s not serving the purpose already ‘coz our creative mind will come up with a great idea. Great job on this.

  3. That’s really pretty! Thanks for sharing. I might do it if I’m not too lazy. Or I can just grab my girlfriend to do it for me hahahaha

  4. Bibigyan kita ng award, ikaw na ang Most Crafty and Most Resourceful! Hehe 😀 And cute nung clock, sayang nagloloko sya. And grabe lang yung cost ng repair, pwede kang bumili ng 3 pang clock! Haha! Anyway, I love what you made, BDJ planners are so pretty talaga. I miss having one! Next year, perhaps. ^_^

    1. Awww Thank you Jean! 😀 Yes sobra, napaatras ako sa price ng repair. I can buy a prettier clock na for 350 😀 BDJ Planners are my fave! <3 super p-pretty ng illustrations nila talaga.

  5. You are so creative!!! 🙂 My sister did our own wall clock naman, I will take a photo ang show you. same concept. 🙂

    1. Thank you Sam! ^_^ I’m thinking of doing that too. I actually have crocheted design for a wall clock, until now I can’t find the time to have it framed and running 😀

  11. You’re so creative. 🙂 I love what you did. Super cute! Naalala ko yung DIY mo using washi tapes for a cellphone case. I tried it but I wasn’t able to post it right away. I’ll finish all my blog backlogs first so I can post it and tag you. Btw, I wonder if we have the same internet provider. I experienced a problem with mine last week. Pssssh. We don’t have internet connection for 3 days straight. They also have a bad customer service. I’m planning to switch to another ISP.

    1. Thank you She! <3 Would love to see the results sa phone mo ^_^ Ohh I was with Globe before, super okay naman before. Been with them for almost 2 years, nito nalang talaga naging sabaw simula end ng december till this Feb kaya pinaputol ko na kasi I'm paying for nothing. I switched to skybroadband, so far so good naman. 🙂 up to 3mbps. Depende lang talaga sa location mo. if may avail na dsl sa lugar niyo, dsl ka nalang kasi sure yun. samin kasi walang dsl na available 🙁
